Trial & getting started

Starting your free trial

Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every account starts with a 7-day free trial, no credit card required. The trial is the full Standard experience, so your agent answers calls, books on your Google Calendar, uses your integrations, texts follow-ups, and transfers to a human. You feel everything the agent can do before you pick a plan.
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. Sign up with just your email. You only need a credit card when you choose to move onto a paid plan.

Plans & switching

Choosing and changing plans

What is the difference between the plans?
Basic is a smart answering service: it answers calls, answers your FAQs, takes a message and alerts you by email, and can transfer to one number. Standard adds the layer that acts on the call: it books on your Google Calendar, uses your integrations (Square, HubSpot, Salesforce), transfers to anyone, texts callers, records calls, and adds live monitoring, the website voice widget, and priority support. Teams adds API keys and webhooks plus multi-agent and multi-location for a bigger operation. Every plan includes answering, FAQs, message-taking, 6 voices, and multilingual conversations.
Which plan should I pick?
Most businesses fit Standard at $129 a month (up to 300 calls), which is why we recommend it: it books appointments and connects to your tools, rather than only taking a message. Basic at $59 is for a simple answering service that answers and takes a message, and Teams at $299 is for running multiple locations with more agents and API access. You can start free and switch later, so you do not have to get it perfect on day one.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. No penalties.
What is included in the Enterprise plan?
Enterprise is for high-volume or multi-location operations: unlimited agents and team seats, custom call volume and numbers, SIP trunking or bring your own voice, and dedicated support. Contact us for a quote sized to your account.
Do you offer annual billing?
Annual billing is on the way and will save about 17%, which works out to two months free. For now plans are billed monthly and you can cancel anytime. If you would like to set up annual billing sooner, contact us and we will arrange it.

Calls & usage

How calls and usage work

What counts as a call?
A call is one your agent actually answers and handles. Missed calls, spam, and instant hang-ups do not count toward your monthly total, so you are only ever counted for real conversations. Most calls run 2 to 3 minutes, so a busy month of quick calls goes further, while unusually long calls use a bit more of your allowance. There is no per-minute charge and no overage: as you approach your monthly limit we flag it in your dashboard and make it one click to move up, and we never cut off a call in progress.
What happens if I go over my included calls?
No surprise bill, ever. As you approach your monthly total we flag it in your dashboard and make it one click to move to a bigger plan. We never cut off a call that is already in progress, and there is no metered overage charge.
When do my included calls reset?
Your calls reset at the start of each billing cycle. Your cycle runs monthly from the day you subscribe, not the calendar month, so a mid-month signup still gets a full month before its first reset. Calls used and remaining are always on your usage dashboard.
Where can I see how many calls I have used?
On your dashboard under Usage. It shows calls used and remaining for the current billing cycle and updates after every call.

Billing & payments

Billing, receipts, and payments

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe. Enterprise plans can pay by invoice with NET-30 terms.
Do you send receipts and invoices?
Yes. Stripe emails a receipt for every successful payment, and your past invoices are available anytime from the billing portal in your dashboard.
How do I update my card or cancel?
Open Billing in your dashboard to launch the secure Stripe customer portal, where you can update your payment method, download invoices, or cancel. Only account admins can manage billing.
What happens if a payment fails?
We retry the charge automatically over about two weeks and email you each time. Your service keeps running during that grace period. If it still cannot be collected, the subscription cancels and calling pauses until you resubscribe.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your monthly subscription covers the platform and your included calls, and phone number fees are included in your plan. There are no overage charges: if you approach your monthly calls, we flag it and help you pick the right plan.
Can I get a surprise bill?
No. Tilk has no metered overage. Your plan is a flat monthly price, so your bill can never exceed your subscription price for the month.

Limits & safeguards

Call limits and safeguards

What happens when my agent reaches its concurrent call limit?
New callers hear a brief "all lines busy" message; existing calls finish normally. You can raise the limit on your dashboard up to your plan ceiling. See tilkai.com/limits for plan ceilings.
Can I see when calls are being rejected?
Yes. Every rejection is logged. Open Agent → Channels → Schedule & Limits → Call Limits to see live counters, the last 10 rejections in plain language, and a one-click link to the setting that caused each one.
Are there platform-level rate limits I should know about?
There is a thin per-IP and global safety net to prevent abuse, but most accounts never hit it. Full details and current thresholds are at tilkai.com/limits.
